Exhibition Marija Jug Pecarić Ova izložba radova Marije Jug Pecarić, koju u Sponzi organizira galerija „Art Studio Begović“ iz Dubrovnika – u doslovnom smislu nije retrospektivna izložba, ali po broju eksponata i rasponu od skora četiri decenije rada, ipak daje potpun uvid u rad i način slikanja dubrovačke slikarice pružajući nam uvid u nekoliko stilskih i tehničkih varijanti ipak jedinstvenog i prepoznatljivog Majinog likovnog rukopisa. Nedvojbeno je raniji i najčešći rad u tehnici akvarela, rjeđe gvaša ili tempere, osigurao umjetnici čistoću izraza, transparentnost boje i blagi melodiozan tok linija, tako da i u pastoznijim namazima na slikama rađenim tehnikom ulja, njen duktus je čist, ruka sigurna i površina platna ujednačena. Nema naknadnih dodavanja slojeva boje ili ispravki osim ponekad voljnog konturiranja određenih ploha radi pojačanja ekspresije ili kompozicionog usklađivanja. Bitna oznaka ovog slikarstva je svakako unutarnja profinjenost, koja i nostalgična i melanholična stanja iz unutarnje pobude iznosi u pojavni svijet raznolikim odabirom tema i tehnike te svoje osjećaje izražava iskreno i slobodno, bez naglašene stilske pripadnosti ovom ili onom suvremenom „izmu“ ili „trendu“.

Within Midnight Program of the 58th Dubrovnik Summer Festival, in the Sponza palace atrium, on 3rd of August 2007. at midnihgt the exhibition opening Milovan Stanic: Festival Portraits in cooperation with the Art Studio Begovic will take place. In the pleiad of the Dubrovnik painters from the second half of the 20th century a special place is reserved for Milovan Stanic. Like many talented young painters of Dubrovnik, he was closely connected with the group associated with the conservator and art critic Kosta Stranjic in the first post-war years. Encouraged by his mentor, the young Stanic accepted painting as his destiny, starting on an uncertain journey, which was as adventurous as his hoped-for career of a seaman on a transatlantic ship would have been. His impulsive nature prevented him from competing the Zagreb Academy of Visual Arts, to which he was admitted and enrolled, but it did not prevent his temperamental realisation and wide affirmation within a relatively short time - which by itself led to his intercontinental travels and sojourns in the USA...
